For years, we have served the city of Chennai and a few clients from its outskirts with sophistication. Embracing the digital era, we are now expanding our reach through our online store.

From Lucky Silk Store to Saj Dhaj - Our Story

Founded in 1964 by Mr. Prem Chand Doshi, our store boasts a five-decade-long legacy. Mr. Doshi's passion for craftsmanship and clothing led to the creation of our firm, distinguishing it from others.

Initially trading from Bombay (present-day Mumbai) and Kolkata, Mr. Doshi eventually established his own set of Karigars. Lucky Silk Store was situated in one of the prime areas of Madras (present-day Chennai) - Elephant Gate, Sowcarpet.

Lucky Silk Store gained fame for its Embroidered Sarees, Silk Sarees, Crepe, and Tissue Sarees. Within a few years, Khari Sarees were introduced. The Khari Zari, meaning Real Zari, was a major trend in the 70s, made up of silver and gold zari, forming a significant part of our business. Our store became a landmark in the locality, attracting many people who came to learn from Mr. Prem.

In 2004, as Mr. Prem handed over responsibilities to his sons, Saj Dhaj emerged from the name Lucky Silk Store. Initially, Saj Dhaj offered a diverse collection of sarees and later expanded to include Lehengas, Salwar Suits, and Kurtis.

With a commitment to excellent customer service and quality products, we relocated to a grand and diversified location in 2015. Over the years, we have become known for the relationships we build with our customers.
